Recycled Gold and Refined Metals

Our recycled gold and platinum are of identical quality to newly mined refined gold or platinum. By using recycled metals you help avoid the environmentally damaging effects of mining. Our recycled gold and platinum comes from a refinery that sources old gold and platinum from numerous post-consumer sources, including existing jewellery, and then refines these metals back to their pure form.

Once refined, recycled gold and platinum are of identical quality to (and therefore completely indistinguishable form) newly mined refined gold or platinum. For this reason, our refiner is independently audited and certified to guarantee that their metals really are 100% recycled.

Our objective is to help diminish the negative impacts of dirty gold by reducing the demand for newly mined metals and contributing to programs dedicated to improving mining practices.

Recycled Gold

Dirty gold mining has a history of civil war, labour abuses, and environmental devastation. Metal mining, and gold mining in particular, is one of the most environmentally destructive types of mining and millions of gold miners earn low wages in dangerous working conditions. Recycled Gold is better than Fairtrade as it is not coming from gold mines and it is conflict free.
